Sustainability

We have identified many key waste streams that arise through our repair stations and have found recycling solutions. Whether we are at the station or working away, we strive to encourage our employees to dispose of waste correctly. The main waste focus is Aluminium.

ULDs: Containers approximately 60% and Pallets approximately 97% are made from Aluminium, which is an infinitely recyclable material, and it takes up to 95% less energy to recycle it than to produce primary Aluminium, which also limits emissions, including greenhouse gases. Today, about 75% of all Aluminium produced in history, equating to nearly a billion tons, is still in use.

The recycling of aluminium generally produces significant cost savings over the production of new aluminium, even when the cost of collection, separation and recycling are taken into account.

Airbase GSE is committed to developing our recycle, reduce and reuse policies in order to further reduce the production of waste through good working practice.
